Hypnosis

Truths and Myths About Hypnosis - What is it?

Hypnosis is a powerful skill that you can use to train your mind.

Hypnosis enables you to use the mind to access your own natural mental, physical and healing abilities. It is a normal and natural activity similar to day dreaming, meditation or being on autopilot when you drive home, work or perform a routine task like brushing your teeth or washing dishes.

All hypnosis is self hypnosis.

Hypnosis is not mind control.

You remain in control at all times.  No one can be made to do anything they are morally opposed to doing during hypnosis.  Extensive amounts of academic studies have been performed which have proved that hypnosis cannot be used to force someone to do something against their will.

Hypnosis requires consent and cooperation.  No one can be hypnotized without their consent, cooperation and willingness.

A hypnotized person is aware of everything that the hypnotist says at all times and will remember everything, unless they agree to forget.

Hypnosis allows your subconscious mind to accept positive suggestions.

Hypnotic suggestions can include changing or releasing unwanted behavior patterns.

Hypnosis can strengthen any part of your personality or ability that you desire.

Hypnosis actually strengthens the will and improves powers of the mind.

What does hypnosis feel like?

Most people describe hypnosis as a highly relaxed state where they are still aware but very relaxed.
It is very similar to meditation with the distinction that hypnosis has a more specific purpose or goal such as releasing "bad" habits and creating "good" habits.

You are aware of everything that goes on and is said while under a hypnotic trance.  The depth of the trance varies from a light trance to a deep trance, sometimes even within a session.  There may be times that you are aware of exactly what is being said as if you are listening in and other times your conscious mind will get bored and you will drift off and not consciously think about what is being said.  The experience varies from session to session and from person to person.  You chose how deep and how aware you want to be during the session.

People under hypnosis will always awaken from hypnosis easily.

How can hypnosis be used?

Hypnosis works with your subconscious mind.  Your subconscious mind regulates all aspects of your body, breathing, heart rate, metabolic functions, as well as, other behavioral programs (autopilot).

Using the basic and advanced techniques of hypnosis, hypnosis can be used to introduce positive suggestions, release negative programming and replace with new positive programming.
